Piano Sonatas 6-8

Piano Sonatas Nos. 6–8 are a set of piano sonatas by Sergey Prokofiev, composed between 1939 and 1944. These three so-called "War Sonatas" feature jagged dissonances, driving rhythmic propulsion and moments of lyrical introspection that reflect Prokofiev's late style and the turmoil of the World War II era, and they are regarded as key works in his piano output and in 20th-century piano literature.
