Universe Symphony
Album by Charles Ives & American Festival of Microtonal Music Orchestra & Johnny Reinhard
The Universe Symphony is an unfinished orchestral work by American composer Charles Ives, composed in stages between 1911 and 1928. The work is characterised by experimental techniques such as polytonality, complex rhythmic layering and spatial orchestration, and occupies a distinctive place in Ives's output as an ambitious, large-scale exploration of his ideas about musical collage and temporality.
