A Sense of Direction is an album by American vibraphonist Walt Dickerson, released in 1961. The music is modern jazz led by Dickerson's vibraphone and is characterised by sparse, melodic lines, modal harmonic frameworks and restrained rhythmic support, and it came early in his recording career as he established his approach to the instrument.
