Symphony No. 6 'Pathétique' is the sixth symphony by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, completed and premiered in 1893. A late-Romantic orchestral work characterised by sweeping lyricism, contrasted turbulent and introspective movements, and a sombre slow finale rather than a conventional triumphant conclusion, it is Tchaikovsky's final completed symphony and a culminating statement in his symphonic output.
