Symphonie fantastique, Op. 14 is a programme symphony by French composer Hector Berlioz, composed in 1830. It is scored for a large orchestra, uses a recurring idée fixe and vivid orchestration to pass through programme-driven scenes ranging from pastoral passages to a macabre finale, and it was one of Berlioz's early major works that influenced Romantic orchestral practice.
