String Quintet in C major, D.956 is a string quintet by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, completed in 1828. The work belongs to early Romantic chamber music and has dense, warm textures from the addition of a second cello, long lyrical lines and sudden harmonic shifts, and it was composed near the end of Schubert's life so it is among his final chamber works.
