Century Child is the fourth studio album by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, released in 2002. The album broadens the band's symphonic metal sound with heavier guitar tones, expanded orchestral and choral arrangements and clearer contrasts between male and operatic vocals, and it was a step towards larger-scale, more cinematic compositions in the band's subsequent releases.
