This compilation release presents two serenades by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1787 and 1779. They exemplify classical-era serenade writing through clear, songlike melodies, string-dominated textures with occasional wind and brass colouring, and together illustrate both Mozart's earlier Salzburg serenade approach and his later Viennese chamber style.
