Má Vlast
Album by Bedřich Smetana & Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks & Rafael Kubelík
Má Vlast is a cycle of six symphonic poems by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed between 1874 and 1879. The work blends Romantic orchestral writing with nationalist thematic material and evocative orchestral colour to portray Bohemian landscapes and legends, and it occupies a central place in Smetana's later output and in the development of Czech national music.
