Canto ostinato

Canto Ostinato is a composition by Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt, completed in 1979. The piece, written for multiple pianos and keyboards, employs extended interlocking repetitive patterns and gradual harmonic development that allow performers flexibility in duration and interpretation, and it occupies a prominent position within late‑20th‑century minimalist and contemporary Dutch music.
