Sinfonie Nr. 2 is the second symphony by Gustav Mahler, completed in 1894. A large-scale late-Romantic work that combines expansive orchestral forces with choral and solo vocal writing, it explores themes of death and resurrection and represents a significant step in Mahler's development toward extended, programme-inflected symphonies at the turn of the century.
