Symphonies nos. 1, 2 and 3

Album by Alexander Porfyrevich Borodin & Symfonický orchester Slovenského rozhlasu & Stephen Gunzenhauser

Symphonies Nos. 1, 2 and 3 are orchestral works by Russian composer Alexander Borodin, composed across the mid-to-late 19th century (roughly 1862–1887). They exemplify Romantic Russian symphonic style through expansive lyrical themes, rich orchestration and echoes of folk melody, and they occupy a key place in Borodin's output by tracing his development from early academic training to his mature symphonic voice, with the third remaining unfinished at his death.
