Symphony no. 9 "Choral'
Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & New York Philharmonic & Zubin Mehta
Symphony No. 9 'Choral' is the ninth symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, completed in 1824. A large-scale choral symphony that incorporates vocal soloists and a chorus in the final movement, it exemplifies Beethoven's late-period style through expanded formal architecture, contrapuntal density, wide dynamic and textural contrasts and inventive orchestration, and it is his final completed symphony that expanded the possibilities of the symphonic form.
