Dido and Aeneas

Dido and Aeneas is an opera by the English Baroque composer Henry Purcell, composed c. 1688–1689. Written in the Baroque idiom for voices, chorus and continuo with integrated dance passages, it combines recitative-driven drama with melodic airs and contributed to the development of English-language stage music.
