Swan Lake Ballet Suite

Swan Lake is a ballet score by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed in 1875–1876 and first performed in 1877. The music exemplifies late-Romantic orchestral ballet writing with sweeping melodies, leitmotivic characterisation and rich orchestration, and it represents a major early example in Tchaikovsky's output that helped establish the full-length ballet as a central genre in late 19th-century music theatre.
