Carmen Suites No. 1 & 2 / L'Arlésienne Suite
Album by Georges Bizet
Carmen Suites No. 1 & 2 / L'Arlésienne Suite is a compilation of orchestral suites by French composer Georges Bizet, originally composed in 1872 (L'Arlésienne) and 1875 (Carmen). The music combines operatic lyricism, colourful orchestration, Spanish‑inflected rhythms and Provençal dance elements, and functions as orchestral adaptations of his stage works that occupy a significant place in Bizet's output and in late 19th-century French repertoire.
