The Six Cello Suites are a set of six suites for unaccompanied cello by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed between 1717 and 1723. They are Baroque instrumental works that use dance forms and single-line polyphony to extend the technical and expressive range of the cello, and they are central to the instrument's repertoire and to the study of Baroque solo writing.
