The Planets, Op. 32 is an orchestral suite by English composer Gustav Holst, written between 1914 and 1916 and first performed in 1918. The work employs large-scale late-Romantic orchestration, modal harmonies, distinctive rhythmic motifs and vivid orchestral colour to evoke astrological characters, and it occupies a central place in Holst's output and in early 20th-century orchestral repertoire.
