Symphony no. 3 "Kaddish"
Album by Leonard Bernstein & Claire Bloom & Kelley Nassief & The Maryland State Boychoir & The Washington Chorus & Baltimore Symphony Orchestra & Marin Alsop
Symphony No. 3 'Kaddish' is the third symphony by American composer Leonard Bernstein, completed and first performed in 1963. The work blends large-scale symphonic writing with chorus and spoken narration, drawing on liturgical motifs and dramatic contrasts to confront themes of faith, mourning and civic responsibility, and it marks Bernstein's mid-career turn toward explicitly religious and political subject matter.
