Symphony No. 9 'From the New World' is the ninth symphony by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, composed in 1893. It combines Romantic-era orchestration with influences drawn from American folk elements and spirituals, characterised by expansive melodies, rich orchestral colour and dramatic contrasts, and was composed during Dvořák's time in the United States, marking an important moment in his career and in the development of late 19th-century transatlantic musical exchange.
