The Brandenburg Concertos, Nos. 4, 5 & 6

Album by Johann Sebastian Bach & Sir Neville Marriner & Academy of St Martin in the Fields

The Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 4, 5 and 6 are three of the six concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, first published in 1721. They exemplify Baroque concerto writing, employing concerto grosso textures with contrasting solo and ensemble passages, diverse instrumental colours and virtuosic demands that illustrate Bach's contribution to instrumental repertoire and the development of the concerto form.
