Symphony No. 4 is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1900. The work combines late-Romantic orchestral colour with relatively transparent textures and lighter instrumentation than some of his other symphonies, culminating in a soprano-voiced finale that sets a poem and reflects a shift toward integrating vocal elements within his symphonic writing.
