Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Pathétique, is the sixth symphony by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, completed and premiered in 1893. It was Tchaikovsky's final completed symphony and exemplifies late-Romantic orchestral writing, combining sweeping, lyrical themes, rich and colourful orchestration, stark dynamic contrasts and a sombre final movement that provides a distinctive close to his symphonic output.
