The Rite of Spring
Album by Igor Fyodorovitch Stravinsky & Boston Symphony Orchestra & Pierre Monteux
The Rite of Spring is a ballet and orchestral work by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky, premiered in 1913. The score is characterised by driving, irregular rhythms, dense dissonant harmonies and expanded orchestration, and it marked a decisive move in Stravinsky's output towards modernist techniques that reshaped early 20th-century music.
