Oktett (Octet in F major, D.803) is an octet composition by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, composed in 1824. Scored for clarinet, horn, bassoon, two violins, viola, cello and double bass, the work blends Classical-era clarity with early Romantic lyricism through expansive melodies, intricate counterpoint and rich chamber textures, and it occupies a central place in Schubert's late chamber output as a bridge between Classical forms and Romantic expression.
