Lamentations of Jeremiah
Album by Thomas Tallis & The Tallis Scholars & Peter Phillips
Lamentations of Jeremiah is a choral composition by English Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis, composed circa the 1560s. The settings draw on Renaissance polyphony—modal harmonies, imitative counterpoint and austere liturgical textures—and represent some of Tallis's mature sacred writing and a notable strand in the development of English choral tradition.
