Requiem

Requiem (Messa da Requiem) is a choral work by Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, completed in 1874. The work combines operatic vocal writing with the liturgical Latin mass format, employing large-scale choral and orchestral forces alongside soloists to create dramatic contrasts, and represents a late-career sacred composition in which Verdi applied his theatrical style to a religious text.
