Má Vlast
Album by Bedřich Smetana & Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra & Walter Süsskind
Má vlast is a cycle of six symphonic poems by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed between 1874 and 1879. The work employs late-Romantic orchestral writing and folk-inflected motifs to evoke Bohemian landscapes and national themes, and it occupies a central place in Smetana's mature output and in the emergence of Czech national music.
