The Fairy-Queen / The Prophetess is a recording of two semi-operas by English composer Henry Purcell, composed in 1692 and 1690 respectively. Both works blend Baroque vocal writing, choruses and instrumental dances with spoken theatre interludes characteristic of late 17th-century English stage music, and they represent important examples of Purcell's mature contributions to English Baroque opera.
