Symphony No. 2 is the second symphony by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, completed in 1902. Musically, it is a four-movement late-Romantic orchestral work characterised by expansive thematic development, motivic integration and a shift towards a more individual national Romantic idiom, and it occupies a pivotal place in Sibelius's output as he consolidated his mature symphonic voice in the early twentieth century.
