Quintettes à cordes K. 515 & K. 516
Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Talichovo kvarteto & Karel Řehák
Quintettes à cordes K. 515 & K. 516 are two string quintets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1787. The works exemplify Mozart's late-Classical chamber style, expanding the standard quartet texture with an extra viola to create richer harmonic and contrapuntal textures and juxtaposing lyrical passages with more dramatic minor-key writing that marks their place in his mature output.
