Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection” is the second symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1894. It is a major late-Romantic work that employs expansive orchestral forces, chorus and vocal soloists across a multi-movement, programme-driven structure culminating in a vast finale that treats themes of death and resurrection and marks Mahler's development towards symphonies that blend song with symphonic form.
