The Ecstasy of the Moment
Album by Morton Feldman & The Barton Workshop
The Ecstasy of the Moment is a composition by American composer Morton Feldman, written in 1981. The piece exemplifies Feldman's late style, featuring very quiet dynamics, extended duration and delicate, slowly unfolding timbral textures for a chamber ensemble of flute, viola and cello, and marks his turn toward prolonged, low-energy sound worlds within late-20th-century experimental music.
