Le Roi David

Le Roi David is a stage oratorio (dramatic psalm) by Swiss composer Arthur Honegger, completed in 1921 and first performed that year. The work blends choral writing, orchestral colour and spoken narration with influences from liturgical and popular idioms, and represents an early large-scale dramatic work in Honegger's output that foreshadows his later orchestral and theatrical compositions.
