Lenox Avenue Breakdown is an album by American alto saxophonist Arthur Blythe, released in 1979. It combines post-bop and avant-garde jazz elements with prominent alto sax melodies, strong rhythmic backing and textural contrast, and it sits early in Blythe's recorded output as a clear statement of the direction he pursued in the late 1970s.
