4 Symphonies

Album by Franz Berwald & Göteborgs Symfoniker & Neeme Järvi

4 Symphonies is a set of four symphonies by Swedish composer Franz Berwald, composed in the 1840s and 1850s. The works exemplify Romantic orchestral writing with inventive orchestration, often unconventional structures and a blend of classical forms with Romantic harmony, representing a key phase in Berwald's career as he developed a distinct symphonic voice within 19th-century Scandinavian music.
