Symphonic Poems
Album by Franz Liszt & London Festival Orchestra & Alfred Scholz
Symphonic Poems is a cycle of thirteen orchestral symphonic poems by Hungarian composer Franz Liszt, composed between 1848 and 1882. The works employ programme-driven structures, expanded chromatic harmony and innovative orchestration, representing Liszt's move into large-scale orchestral forms and helping to establish the symphonic poem as an important strand in late Romantic and early modern orchestral music.
