Scheherazade

Album by Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky‐Korsakov & The Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra & Sascha Goetzel

Scheherazade is a symphonic suite by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, composed in 1888. The work exemplifies late Romantic orchestral writing with vivid orchestration, recurring thematic material and Orientalist-inspired colours, and it is representative of Rimsky-Korsakov's development as a composer focused on orchestral colour in the late 19th century.
