Symphony no. 5 in B-flat major

Album by Anton Bruckner & Günter Wand & Münchner Philharmoniker

Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major is the fifth symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, completed in 1876. The symphony is a large-scale Romantic orchestral work characterised by dense polyphonic textures, monumental brass writing and an expansive, architectonic approach to thematic development, representing a mature statement in Bruckner's symphonic output and exemplifying his late-period concerns with form and orchestration.
First released: 26th June 2006
