The Apostles is an oratorio by English composer Edward Elgar, premiered in 1903. The work is a large-scale late-Romantic choral and orchestral piece characterised by expansive orchestration, thematic transformation and dramatic solo and choral writing, and it continued Elgar's exploration of large-scale sacred forms during his mature period.
