Giselle, or The Wilis: Ballet in Two Acts
Album by Adolphe Adam & Симфонический оркестр Большого театра
Giselle, or The Wilis is a romantic ballet in two acts composed by Adolphe Adam, premiered in 1841. Its score combines lyrical, folk-inflected melodies, lilting dance rhythms and atmospheric orchestration characteristic of mid-19th-century French ballet, and the work became a staple of the Romantic ballet repertoire and a defining piece in Adam's stage output.
