Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & Josef Krips & London Symphony Orchestra
Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, commonly known as the Choral Symphony, is a symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven completed and first performed in 1824. The work is a large-scale orchestral composition that incorporates vocal soloists and a chorus in its final movement, and as Beethoven's last completed symphony it exemplifies a shift from Classical formal practice toward the expanded expressive aims associated with the Romantic era.
