Symphonie fantastique

Album by Hector Berlioz & Wiener Philharmoniker & Sir Colin Davis

Symphonie fantastique is a programme symphony by the French composer Hector Berlioz, composed and first performed in 1830. It employs expanded orchestral forces, vivid programme-driven movements, recurring thematic material and novel orchestral effects to depict a dramatic narrative, and it represents an important example of Romantic programme music in Berlioz's early career.
