Album by Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky‐Korsakov & Ivan Petrov & Vladimir Ivanovsky & Natalya Rozhdestvenskaya & Большой симфонический оркестр имени П. И. Чайковского & Moscow Radio Chorus & Vasili Nebolsin
The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya is an opera by Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov, first performed in 1907. The score blends Russian folk-influenced melodies, modal harmonies and rich orchestration to evoke mystical, pastoral and spiritual atmospheres, and the work, one of Rimsky-Korsakov's late operas, synthesises his interest in orchestral colour and nationalistic themes within the Russian operatic tradition.
