Stravinsky: The Rite of Spring
Album by Igor Fyodorovitch Stravinsky
The Rite of Spring is a ballet and orchestral work by Игорь Фёдорович Стравинский, composed in 1913. The music is modernist in style, with irregular rhythms, dense dissonances, large orchestral forces and vivid colour drawn from Russian folk material, and it was composed after Stravinsky's earlier ballets and is associated with the rise of modernism in early 20th-century classical music.
