Piano Trios nos. 1, 2

Album by Johannes Brahms & Eroica Trio

Piano Trios Nos. 1 and 2 are chamber works by German composer Johannes Brahms, completed in 1854 (No. 1, later extensively revised in 1889) and 1882 (No. 2). Both trios combine Romantic-era harmonic richness and lyrical melody with classical forms, featuring dense chamber textures, contrapuntal interplay and dramatic contrasts that trace Brahms's development from his early youthful style to his mature compositional voice.
First released: 29th January 2002
