Symphonien nos. 2 & 7

Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & Berliner Philharmoniker & Herbert von Karajan

Symphonien nos. 2 & 7 are orchestral symphonies by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1802 and 1812 respectively. They illustrate his transition from Classical forms to a more rhythmically assertive, harmonically adventurous language, with No. 2 retaining late-Classical structural clarity and No. 7 emphasising rhythmic propulsion and dance-derived metres that anticipate Romantic orchestral developments.
