Horn Trios
Album by Johannes Brahms & Frédéric Duvernoy & Heinrich von Herzogenberg & Jenö Keveházi & Jenő Jandó & Ildikó Hegyi & József Kiss
The Horn Trio in E-flat major, Op. 40 is a chamber work by Johannes Brahms composed in 1865. Composed in the wake of Robert Schumann's death, it combines Romantic-era chamber lyricism with the unusual horn-violin-piano ensemble, juxtaposing warm brass colour against violin and piano textures to create intimate, often elegiac music that occupies an important place in Brahms's early mature chamber output.
