Symphonies Nos. 94 "Paukenschlag", 73 "La Chasse", 30 "Alleluja"
Album by Joseph Haydn & Wiener Akademie & Martin Haselböck
This release is a collection of symphonies by Joseph Haydn composed and first performed in the late 18th century (circa 1765–1791). The works illustrate Haydn's classical orchestral style, with clear sonata structures, balanced phrasing, lively string textures and inventive wind and percussion writing, and they trace his progression from earlier Sturm und Drang influences to the mature symphonic writing of his later career.
First released: 1989
