Symphonie No. 10
Album by Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich & Berliner Philharmoniker & Herbert von Karajan
Symphony No. 10 is the tenth symphony by Soviet composer Dmitri Shostakovich, completed in 1953. The four-movement orchestral work juxtaposes sombre, introspective material with volatile, scherzo-like writing and expansive orchestral textures, and it occupies a key place in Shostakovich's mid-career output immediately following the death of Joseph Stalin.
